Imagine learning math concepts
by playing with Legos. Or improving reading and writing
skills by publishing stories. These things and more are
possible through Great Explorations, an after-school and
summer enrichment program for area children.
Academic enrichment occurs
through exciting actives that expand rather than extend
the school day, including: hands-on learning, homework
help, tutoring, field trips & activities.
Enrichment activities are
designed to develop the whole child through a variety of
explorer clubs and activities including: music, art,
drama, outdoors, sports, health, recreation & interest
clubs (books, boats, ect.).
Family activities are also
planned, including regular family fun nights at the
schools. Family activities include: wellness/fitness,
technology, workshops & volunteer opportunities.
Learn, Learn, Learn through
Play, Play, Play
School-age children have unique
intellectual, emotional, physical and creative needs.
They also need a break from school. Great Explorations
meets those needs by nurturing a child's education
through creative, hands-on approaches.
Staff Lead The Way
Highly qualified, experienced
staff respond to each child's needs in a caring,
positive manner. Staff include: teachers, education
professionals, high school students & community members.
Great Explorations meets every
full school day. After a healthy snack, every child will
have a tutoring or homework help session each day.
Children will also take part in self-selected enrichment
& recreational activities.
The summer program meets daily
Monday through Friday. Like the after-school program,
activities include an academic component, enrichment and
